AREVA (a france powerworks company "with nuclear AREVA backbone" ) explore since 40 years uranium mine (yellow cake) in Arlit in the north of Niger (Sahel-Africa). Now AREVA starts a new Uran mine in Imouraren, about 80 km south of Arlit and about 20 km west from N25 "highway". The Imouraren mine is planned to become the largest mine in Africa und the second largest in the world.
At least Niger is one of the poorest countries in Africa, inspite of rich mines and corrupte politicians.
The neighbor state is Mali, where soldiers from France support local military system, to prozteczt the poor püeople in Mali and perhaps the both uranium mining projects in Niger!!
